A Lovely Day for Glitter

j-9729_Pack glitter

Another card using the Splitcoast card sketch SC485.  Supplies are from my scrap bins.

The stamped image and sentiment are Unity’s itty bitty “A lovely Butterfly Day“ stamped in SU’s Rich Razzleberry.j-9727_glitter

Glitter is from Sparkle N Sprinkle“Pretty Princess”.  I used a glue pen to get the glitter in the right places.  I learned this from the class on glitter and flocking I took at their store recently.

For a Brave Neighbor

Heard a neighbor or ours is going in for neck surgery soon and I made this card for her.  I followed the Unity {be inspired} Challenge sketch.

I have Stampin’ Up! paper and ink.  The Unity stamp sets are “She Sprouted Wings” and “What Matters Most”.  I used 3 different Sparkle N Sprinkle glitters: Neon Flamingo, Priceless Peacock, and Lavender Iris. Their glue pen is the best I’ve ever used.

I wanted the card to be cheery and uplifting, so this piece of patterned paper was my choice.  Because the pp is so busy I didn’t need much stamping, and the sentiment I wanted to use is large anyway.  When I spotted the flight of butterflies I thought that would be a pretty addition.

Unity Sketch #15

Sparkle N Sprinkle Creative Challenge April

Two Birthday Cards with Ease

Here are two cards that went together quickly.j-9556_HB bird

For this one I actually had inspiration from two sources.  One was a card from a “Featured Stamper” gallery on Splitcoaststampers.  Although my design morphed from Lisa’s in that I changed the orientation of the card, placed my punches differently (I used the paper-piercing mat that fits the Framelits), and used die cut leaves instead of stamps. Oh well, I wanted to use this gorgeous stamp from Stampin’ Up! which I colored with Copics.  This card is also for the color challenge on SCS. We were to use So Saffron (card base), Sahara Sand (the mat), and Baja Breeze for the bird and stems.  I stamped the bird with Cabana.  This was the first time I used the piercing mat and it was so fun, love the look!

For this card I was playing around with cutting down the 12 x 12 sheets, this one from a K & Co pack I got on clearance a while back. I decided to just go with the pattern so I cut it to just under the 4.25 by 5.5 and mounted it on a white card base.  The sentiment is stamped right on there with Blazing Red Stazon.  The dragonfly is a die I used on some Gelli print paper, added some SU pearls to it, then used the glitter pen to add bits of glitter to the flower.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you will share your thoughts.

2 New Glitter Techniques

Here are my latest scrapbook pages using 2 of the techniques from my Glitter and Flocking class last week at Sparkle N Sprinkle.

The end results with the lace is by far the most exciting.  I love how this technique went.  Glitter and butterfly stamp from Sparkle N Sprinkle.  Butterfly stamped in Riding hood Red Stampin’ Up! ink.

A Beautiful Mermaid Card

j-9532_breath

I am quite pleased with how this card turned out.  (Except the sentiment isn’t level – it’s hard to use a Stamp-a-ma-jig with cling blocks.)

The background paper is from a sheet of Gelli Plate prints.  The idea for the glitter comes from my recent class at Sparkle N Sprinkle.  The image is matted with SU’s Certainly Celery, SU pearls of various sizes, and the sentiment is stamped in SU’s Taken with Teal ink.  The stamp set is Sparkle N Sprinkle, stamped in London Fog Memento and colored with Copics, as are the shells.

My coloring and glittering still need lots of practice, but I had fun putting this card together.
