Do you have a favorite way to used stamps when you create a scrapbook layout? This whole month at Lasting Memories Layout Challenges blog focused on stamping on layouts.
When I was introduced to rubber stamps around 2005, it was to make greeting cards. However my world of making memory pages for photos expanded. I began to make my own embellishments to add to the pages where I used to add stickers or simple cut shapes. That is probably my favorite – stamp my own embellishment for my pages.
This sweet face, smiling up at the camera in the sun, is for my last offering to Lasting Memories blog as their guest contributor with the design team. First I stamped directly on the base page, the borders over and under the photos. The bird and flowers were heat embossed with gold detail powder from Nuvo, water-colored quickly, and fussy cut out to use as my embellishments. I die cut the greenery, added some pearls and a bit of doily. Then for the title, I stamped a sentiment from rubber stamps with the same color of ink I used for the border, drew around it with gel pens, and fussy cut it for this page.
It was a beautiful day we spent with this precious child. Having these photos is good, of course, but having created this scrapbook page for an album is even more delightful. What a joy for me to flip back through the many pages and get that loving feeling we spent together. She is 7 years old now and the beautiful moments continue, but because children grow so fast it is nice to view these glimpses of her over the years. She is the sunshine in my life and I am thankful for her. I see God’s love for all in that sweet and joyful face.
